I am trying to make this quick since I don’t have much time to write this before dinner. Tomorrow we are getting shuttled out to our host family and I will not have reliable wifi so I wanted to write before I know I won’t be able to use my laptop.
Mon 12- Tues 13: Training In Miami
I got through training. Nothing much to report here. I just sat through a lot of meetings and briefing about what peace corp is about and expectations through our service.
Wed 14: I flew out to Panama!!
I can’t sleep on planes so I talked to my plane neighbors (I got the middle seat) pretty much the whole flight. After we landed we got through customs and all boarded a bus for a 3 hour ride to Casa Ave Maria. This is a little retreat hosted by the Catholic Church
Thur 15: Bureaucratic Nonsense - I mean meetings
We sat through a bunch of meetings introducing us to more detailed information about our service/post. Since I am working in the agricultural sector, they gave all of us Ag volunteers machetes! It was awesome!
